measure-dont-guess
Decide how to measure a problem before fixing it, then use only the real numbers to make decisions.
Installation
Paste this into Claude Code, Cursor, or any agent that can run commands.
What this skill does
What it does:
- Sets up a clear test to prove or disprove a guess before making changes
- Runs the test in real conditions, not in a safe test space
- Records what was tested, how it was tested, and what the results showed
- Uses only the test results to make decisions, not hunches or what seems logical
When to use it:
- When you are about to fix a bug but are not sure what caused it
- When you want to know if a change actually made something faster or better
- When you are thinking about adding a new feature and want to know if it is really needed
- When you catch yourself saying maybe or probably about something important
