What it does: - Explains why a stock price went up or down after a company released its earnings report - Shows what parts of the earnings report surprised the market - Finds the real disagreement between investors about what the numbers mean - Tells you what to watch for in the days after the earnings come out - Compares what the company said to what the stock price is doing - Breaks down whether the stock move will keep going or reverse When to use it: - A company just released its earnings and the stock moved a lot - You want to understand if the stock move makes sense - You need to decide what to do before the stock market opens the next day - You want to know if the market got it right or got it wrong - You are trying to figure out what investors really care about in the earnings
