What it does: - Plans and runs multi-step attacks that go through several stages like finding targets, getting in, gaining power, moving around the network, and measuring damage - Coordinates different specialized tools and techniques to work together - Tracks progress through each stage and updates plans if something does not work - Creates a complete report showing how the attack worked from start to finish When to use it: - You need to do a full security test from outside to inside - You want to plan how to get from one system to another through multiple steps - You have a webshell and need to figure out what to do next - You need to show how a single weakness could lead to a complete takeover - You are testing how well a company can defend against a real attack - You need to plan an attack that crosses multiple systems or networks
