What it does: - Examines suspicious programs to figure out if they are dangerous - Extracts clues like web addresses and file names that show what the malware does - Runs the program in a safe sandbox to watch its behavior - Creates detection rules so other tools can find similar malware - Finds tricks the malware uses to hide from security tools - Analyzes programs that are packed or hidden When to use it: - You found a file you think might be malware - You need to understand what a virus or trojan does - You want to create rules to detect similar threats - You need to extract indicators like file hashes and network addresses - You want to know how malware tries to avoid being detected
