What this skill does
What it does:
- Removes simple protective layers from programs that use UPX, ASPack, or FSG compression
- Finds where the real program code starts after the protective layer unpacks it
- Restores the program to a clean state so you can study it
When to use it:
- The program has a simple protective layer that you can identify
- The program starts with a special instruction that saves registers
- You need a clean copy of the program to analyze further
- Do not use it for strong protections like VMProtect or Themida
- Do not use it if the program has no protective layer
- Do not use it if you need to watch how the protection works
- Always test the unpacked program in a safe sandbox
